Soundbars are a great way to enhance the sound of your TV. All you need to do is connect it with a few cables and some basic knowledge of your Hisense TV. Hisense does not provide technical support for Internet TVs, TVs made for the US market, and TVs sold outside of the US market. Contact the retailer where you purchased your TV if you are not sure who to contact about your TV’s problem or need more information about a warranty issue.

How to connect a soundbar to a Hisense TV
Before you start, make sure you have the following:
- 1. A soundbar with 3.5mm or HDMI input
- 2. 1 HDMI cable (20 feet or less)
- 3. Optical cable. If you’re connecting to a TV that does not have an HDMI input, you will need a digital audio/optical cable for digital sound.
Follow these steps to connect it:
- 1. Connect the optical or HDMI output from the Hisense TV to the soundbar with either an optical HDMI cable.
- 2. Plug in the power cord for your Hisense soundbar, and then turn on your Hisense TV and wait 15-20 seconds while it boots up and connects with the soundbar. If you can’t get audio to come out of your speakers, please press mute on your remote and slide down to volume (the icon looks like a speaker). This should fix the problem.
- 3. Now you’re ready to start enjoying your new, great-sounding TV!
- When you are done, unplug everything and put the TV back in its original place. If you have a soundbar with a 3.5mm input and want to connect it with an optical cable, please use an optical-to-Toslink cable or an optical-to-RCA cable instead of using an audio cable. Optical cables are cheaper and are made for long-distance transmission. Also, the Toslink output in most TVs is only 2 volts, which is not enough for an active subwoofer setup.
1. Sync a soundbar with a Hisense TV in WIFI:
- You need to set up the same WIFI in your Hisense TV and soundbar. First, select the “Wireless” function from the home screen of your Hisense TV (you can find the “Wireless” function on the left side of the home screen). Then, on the bottom-left corner of your television screen, press the “Menu” button or go to Settings> Network > Wireless Setup.
- Now touch [OK] on your remote, and enter the password if required. The SSID and WEP/WPA keys should be shown on your television screen.
- After you finish setting up the wireless network with a Hisense TV, you need to do a setup again on a soundbar. If you have an Internet-ready TV (HISENSE BD700), press the “Menu” button or go to Settings> Network > Wireless Setup, at the bottom of your television screen.
- Now touch [OK] on your remote, and enter the password if required. The SSID and WEP/WPA keys should be shown on your television screen.
- Finally, touch [OK] again in the wireless network setup menu of your soundbar.
2. Sync a soundbar with a Hisense TV with optical cable:
- You need to set up an optical cable connection between a soundbar and a Hisense TV in WIFI mode (see above).
- If you have a soundbar with a 3.5mm input and want to connect it with an optical cable, please use an optical cable. Optical cables are cheaper and are made for long-distance transmission. Also, the Toslink output in most TVs is only 2 volts, which is not enough for an active subwoofer setup.
- After you finish setting up a wireless network between your soundbar and Hisense TV in WIFI mode, you need to do another setup on your soundbar again. Go back to Settings > Network > Wireless Setup at the bottom of your television screen. Touch [OK] on your remote, and enter the password if required. The SSID and WEP/WPA keys should be shown on your television screen.
- Finally, touch [OK] again in the wireless network setup menu of your soundbar.
3. Sync a soundbar with a Hisense TV with HDMI cable:
If you have a soundbar with an HDMI input, connect an HDMI to a digital optical cable instead of an audio cable. Make sure the output of the TV is set to digital optical output (some models do not use this option). If you can’t get audio to come out of your speakers, please press mute on your remote and slide down to volume (the icon looks like a speaker). This should fix the problem.
4. Sync a soundbar with a Hisense TV with HDMI and optical cable:
If you have a soundbar with an HDMI input and want to connect it with an optical cable, please use an optical-to-Toslink cable or an optical-to-RCA cable instead of using an audio cable. Optical cables are cheaper and are made for long-distance transmission. Also, the Toslink output in most TVs is only 2 volts, which is not enough for an active subwoofer setup.
When you’re done, unplug everything and put back the TV in its original place. The only way to buy a Hisense TV outside of Asia is through an online retailer. If you want to purchase a TV second-hand, it will be difficult to contact a local retailer or manufacturer. Some US retailers may offer HISENSE TV, but they also provide support for products made by other brands and models.

Final Verdict
The quality of the Hisense TV depends on the features and model you select. Some TVs have thicker bezels than others. The model you choose will also determine if you have a TV with a built-in tuner. Hisense no longer provides a built-in tuner in its TVs, so if this feature is important to you, keep searching for a model with an external tuner port.
You can hook your Hisense TV up with standard audio/video cables to connect it to a home theatre system, but some people may want to include an HD set-top box instead of connecting their TV directly to the A/V receiver using HDMI or RCA cables (this requires an extra component cable).
